so i get to my house. i have about 10 minutes before i have to leave for work. i plan on checking on everyone and then making a sandwich and heading out.
Go in with a bucket of water for the chickens and there is feathers EVERYWHERE plus some blood
holy shit right...
Mr. Rooster is fine, Whitey is fine. then Rosie comes out.
her toes have been chewed/pulled off. one foot is fine, the other it is a wreck. her middle toe (the longest on a chicken) is now the shortest, there is gunk and blood everywhere
it is terrible
i bring her into the kitchen. we clean it out, soak it, wrap it up. get a vet appt for about an hour later.
and after the appt, she has to have all the toes amputated back a joint, but that should leave enough for balance and walking.
And yes, if you were wondering, i do HATE my life!
but rosie is okay, the other chickens are okay. everyone is getting moved to lynns house. Fran and Iz are already here, and then mr. rooster and whitey are in a crate in my kitchen right now, but they will be brought over in a few minutes. awesome eh?
and how is YOUR day going?
(at least we are supposed to get TERRIBLE weather so i didnt have to go in at all today. i love my job. so accepting for animal emergencies. my work makes me so happy :) )
thats all.
